Enjoying Golf
Golf may not be an exciting game, but it can definitely be a pleasurable game. Becoming a
skilled golfer doesn't require as much physical skill as it requires faithful practice. Golf is a game of details and slight adjustments. The
only opponent in golf is the environment in which it is played.
Just as golfing environments can vary, so your golf game must vary to match each environment in which you play golf. The better you become at
basic golf technique, the easier it is to play great golf at any golf course.
So enjoying golf comes down to learning to overcome those things that beat most beginners. If you really want to master just one part of golf
that will both impress others and give you an upper hand, become one of the few golfers who does well hitting out of sand bunkers.
But before you jump into practicing your sand bunker shots, you need to study up on such factors as hitting out of sand bunkers going uphill
and going downhill. You should work from a consistent stance in sand bunkers, preferably an open stance.
You will also need to learn how to make consistent contact with a three-quarter golf swing. The rest is just a matter of taking the time to
practice your sand bunker shots regularly until you feel as comfortable in the sand bunker as you do on the fairway.
Even when you are swinging from the fairway, forming a habit of consistent and proper stance and posture will add a great deal of consistency
to your golf game. Pay particular attention to the shift of weight from one foot to another with good form and proper balance throughout the
swing. No matter what kind of swing is required and no matter where you are on the golf course, you should always be able to maintain good
balance and form.
