Golf Club Components

A new golf club is nothing without some of the leading golf club components. Having the basic components such as a shaft, hand grip and a head are must haves if you are to play the game of golf. However, these components can be very expensive. You can save money nonetheless by installing some of these components yourself if need be. For
example why pay a great deal of money for a new club when all you need to do is replace the shaft and you can do this yourself?

Replacing the shaft component of your club is easy. However there are certain things that you need to consider when thinking about replacing the shaft yourself. The first thing you need to consider and decide on is whether you are going to have a steel or graphite shaft on your club. These two components are quite different and they both have their own pros and cons. For example the graphite shaft is said to have better control as it weighs less and is easier to handle. However, in recent years the makers of these graphite shafts have been making their shafts longer, which is causing people to lean toward a shorter steel shaft.

Steel shafts are heavier, and their torque ratings are low. Some people are comfortable with a heavier club but it sometimes makes it harder for the golfer to get a perfect swing
and therefore hit the ball at the perfect point, the center. But it has been found that these steel components are more durable and they do not have a painted surface as graphite components do therefore they will not scratch or show scratches as easily.

When choosing to replace old club components with new ones, you have to go with what feels comfortable to you. Every golfer is different and therefore everyone will want
something different in a golf club.
