Golf Handicap Calculators
You can get the golf handicap calculator you need free when you do a search on the Internet. This calculator will help you to compute your
handicap index for an 18-hole
golf course, provided the course is larger than 3000 yards. The index comes from scores posted for multiple golf courses. This is the number of
strokes that you need to complete each hole so that you know your skill level and the one that you should compete against. When you add the
course rating to the slope rating you arrive at the course handicap. When you add your score to this total, you get your handicap index.
You multiply your handicap index by the slope rating and then divide it by 113. With a calculator this math is much easier to do when you want to
figure out how many strokes
you used compared to what the average number is. This system allows all golfers to compete no matter what their skill level is.
There are actually three kinds of calculators you can use when you want to determine your handicap:
-Handicap Differentials
-Handicap Index
-Course Handicaps
According to the USGA, you should have at least 5 scores before you start using the calculator and most golfers have 20. The differentials are
based on your lowest scores. In
order to figure out your differential you will need to have your adjusted score, the course rating and the slope rating. The ratings will be on
the score card, so you only have to fill in your score. When you enter the numbers into the calculator, all the Math is done for you. If you want
to move the information into the next field – the Index, then all you do
is click "Add" on the calculator. The final thing is to move the Index result into the Course Handicap Calculator. You enter the slope rating and
hit "Calculate" and presto –
you have your handicap information.
